Trump will impose new tariffs on China

President Donald Trump will proceed with new tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico starting February 1, the White House confirmed Friday. The tariffs will include a 10% tariff on Chinese goods and a 25% duty on imports from Canada and Mexico.
"With China, I'm also thinking about something because they're sending fentanyl into our country, and because of that, they're causing us hundreds of thousands of deaths," Trump said.
During the election campaign, Trump pledged to impose tariffs of up to 60% on Chinese-made products. However, on his first day back in the White House, he refrained from taking immediate action and instead directed his administration to conduct a review of the issue.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang emphasized that China seeks a "win-win" resolution to trade tensions and aims to increase its imports.
